Safeguarding children sits at the centre of everything we do. Every practitioner we place works within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and our recruitment process follows its safer-recruitment requirements.
Our safer-recruitment commitments
- Enhanced DBS checks. Every candidate holds an enhanced DBS check before placement, and we re-verify status — including the Update Service where registered — before each new placement.
- Two verified references, minimum. No candidate is placed until at least two professional references have been verified, always including their most recent employer.
- Right-to-work checks. We verify every candidate's right to work in the UK against original documents at interview.
- In-person interview. Every practitioner is interviewed by us — in person or by video — before joining the roster.
- Ongoing suitability. We expect candidates and nurseries to tell us about anything that affects a practitioner's suitability to work with children. Concerns are acted on immediately, including removal from our roster and referral to the local authority designated officer (LADO) and, where required, the DBS.
